TrueRoute is the middleware between an independent clinic and the pharmacies it orders from. A pharmacy in the network is available to your clinic when your organization has enabled it, your practice and your prescriber are enrolled there, and it is licensed to ship where your patient lives.

The clinic has an active account at that pharmacy. We carry the paperwork through each pharmacy’s process with you.
- Prescriber enrolled
Your prescriber is on file there
The clinic’s prescriber is on file at that pharmacy, under their own NPI and state license.
A pharmacy’s license is a fact with a source.
Each network pharmacy’s state licenses are recorded with where the value came from and when it expires, and an unknown or lapsed license blocks the route rather than being assumed fine.
Before an order can go to a pharmacy, it must be able to ship to the patient’s state, carry the selected product, have it orderable, and have a price for the quantity asked for.
By machine, or by hand.
Where a pharmacy has an API, an adapter transmits the order. Where it does not, the script lands in an ops console and a named staffer places it, then records the confirmation number. Manual fulfillment runs the identical state machine and writes the identical audit, and it is a permanent, first-class path rather than a temporary gap. A script never leaves the system to be worked “on the side.”
Either way, a transport route has to exist and be configured before the card is charged, not discovered after.
Priced by product, not by drug name.
Every order is for a specific SKU with its unit of measure spelled out, so the quantity is unambiguous and the price is the price. TrueRoute multiplies by the verified rate; it does not convert a dose for you. The card is charged the sum of the ledger lines — drug cost, platform fee, pharmaceutical fee, fulfillment and shipping.
